Speaking of traditions and canons, it's worth noticing that Easter of Orthodox Christians has always been associated with wish fulfillment. For example, our ancestors believed that a man in this day can assure a success in business for the entire year. It was believed that it is enough to come home first after the Easter service.
Young girls also revered Easter signs and customs. To be beautiful and rosy, on the first day of Easter, they washed themselves with the water with red eggs from a silver plate. To be strong, they stood on an ax. Young, unmarried girls on the Easter Matins prayed and asked God to give them grooms to create a strong and prosperous family in the near future.
Another one beautiful tradition associated with “silentiary water”. People went on the Easter night or during matins to a spring, gathered there water and silently carried it home without saying a word. It was believed that this water gained a special power – it became saint. It was sprinkled in barns and houses for prosperity and happiness.
HRC “Carivka” wishes everyone a Happy Easter and gives a 5% discount on the entire menu for each guest!
